AN IMPORTED COLT CHANGES HANDS. Now York. February 7. — Michael Miles, a jockey r Whs has been riding Hat races successfully in Aus-tria-Haiigary. has returned to New York to remain 1 ind finitely. A few days ago he purchased from 1 A. J. .l..vner the three year-old chestnut colt Engel bert, by Cains Orla. and sent him down to Grave-send, Aluie he will be trained by Morris Welsh, brother to the weU-honwn trainer, Thomas Welsh. who is now abroad buying horses for prominent American turfmen. Engelbert. now a three-year-old, was bred in Germany, foaled in France and 1 received his racing education and racing experience t in England. He is a large and rangy chestnut colt. In England he raced creditably in good company, . and it is gem-rally l elieved that if he had not been u a racing prospect worth while Joyner would not t ha*e incurred the expense of buying him and bringing him to this country.
