When the old g. lding Ho.- Allen fell and broke his leg while running in a race at Juarez recently and afterward bad to be destroyed, it marked the passing of one of the oldest thoroughbreds iu training in America. Doc Allen was a thirteen-year-old bay gelding by Lord Dalmeiiy — Add Kan. and was bred by the late J. I". Newman at Sweetwater. Texas. lie had been in possession of 1*. A. Ow.vor. San Antonio.
