Monsieur lerci was cut off sharply on several occasions. otherwise he might have landed the purse. .lake Marklein was unlucky to lose a purse with his Heal Park in the second race and it was s olely due to Ambroses failure to note the coming of Sang Bleu along the inner rail. Sang Bleu was best, but with a poor send -off he would have been beaten handily, had not Ambrose overlooked him in the stretch. A. L.
