: 1 . : 1 j ; I 1 I , CLARK HANDICAP ENTRIES OLD-TIME EVENT LIBERALLY PATRONIZED BY OWNERS AND TRAINERS. Such Stars of Racing as Regret, Borrow. Black Toney, The Finn, Royal II.. Star Jasmine and Their Like Nominated. There are sixty-three nominations for the Clark Handicap, which will be run at Churchill Downs about one week after the- Derby. The Clark Handicap may bring together among others a trio of stars in the" all-aged division in Regret. Borrow and Hodge. The first two are from the stable of Harry Payne Whitney. Borrow won the Kentucky Handicap last year, while Regret won the Derby, and Hodge, aside from winning his full share of stakes and purses during the season on the Kentucky tracks, was second to Borrow in the Kentucky Handicap. There is deep interest in the prospective meeting of these thoroughbreds. Roamer. champion of the all-aged division, which ran unplaced behind Borrow last year, has not been named for the Clark Handicap this year. Kentucky looms up strong in the Clark, though Mr. Whitneys horses will come to Kentucky with the purpose of making a clean sweep. He has eight named for the Clark, and every one of them is of stake calibre. He did not stop with Regret and Rorrow. but has named Thunderer. Bromo, Dominant. Slipshod. Hubbub and Adroit as well. Jefferson Livingston has the second largest number of nominations. He has four, including Royal II.. winner of the Latonia Derby last year. A. K. Macomber named his Sunstar colt. Hesperus, for the big race, and George AVingfield may send Iolistena to the post. II. C. Hallenbeok. who lias not raced in Kentucky since 1912. when Worth won the Kentucky Derby, is coming back to the Rlue Grass state this spring. He has named his high-priced pair of racers.
