KENTUCKY LONG DISTANCE PROPOSAL. Louisville. Ky.. March 21 — The resolution aimed at the oncournge-mont of long distance rae-ing that was introduced at yeste-rdays meeting of the- Kentucky State Kacing Commission is couched in the following language-: "At every meeting in Kentucky given under the control of the State Kacing Commission, one half at least of the total amount guarantee-el for prizes shall be apportioned to races of a mile or over, for three-year-olds and upward, and not less than one-half of this shall be- for races of a mile and an eighth or upwards to June- 1. when after that date-it shall be for races of a mile- and I eiuarter or upward. After June 1 the program for each day shall be- subject to the following regulations: •There shall be at least two races of a mile or upward of the minimum aggregate distances of two miles and a half. These raees must differ at least one furlong in distance- and they shall close with thre-e entries. Neither of these races shall be open to two-year olds, and one of them shall lie neither a handicap nor a race with selling conditions. "The-re shall not be more than two races to which three-year-olds or upward are admitted of less than seven furlongs and of these two races only one may be less than six furlongs. When an extra race-is one- substituted for the original it shall not be for a shorter distance."
