HORSES FOR TIJUANA FLOCKING IN. San Diego. Cal.. March 23. — Horses and horsemen are arriving in San Diego for the reopening of the Tijuana race meeting during the week of April 10. A carload of thirteen flyers, shipped from the Juarez track, reached the city Monday and were taken to the border race course. The horses shipped in good style and unloaded from the car in the best of condition. This was especially true of the flyer Kid Nelson, named for a popular director in the Southern California Association. J. F. Shilling of the famous family of turfmen of that name that has produced so many great riders and trainers, is here with a string of five fine horses. Included in the stable are the two good performers Goldie and Baby Cal. Two of the Shilling boys are among the best of present-day riders and they will be here for the reopening days of the meeting. William Stanfield. well-known owner and trainer, with eigiit horses in his string, has arrived and went to the border town to select stables for his charges. Stanfield was en route to Tijuana when the floods interrupted the meeting and remained at Los Angeles until the situation justified his shipping in. P. M. Fitzgerald, owner of the speedy Seneca, is here and the famous black sprinter is due to arrive.
