HASTY CORA, quickest at the start, drew away in the first eighth, saved ground on the turn and outstayed ALVORD in a game finish. ALVORD raced on the outside all the way and tired after getting to the leaders, but hung on resolutely. DR. NELSON was a forward contender throughout and finished close up. McLELLAND outran the others from the start, but had to be ridden out to withstand LIFE. The latter raced forwardly and finished gamely and wearing the winner down. EDITH OLGA raced well and easily outstayed PIQLETTE. The latter was cut off repeatedly when she attempted to go through on the inside. The others were always outpaced. RUTH STRICKLAND was badly ridden, but made up ground and finished fast. BOB RED-FIELD was bumped back at the start and closed a gap. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. RIVER KING closed a gap in the last half. SONG OF VALLEY raced in closest pursuit to the stretch and quit. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
