SUBSCRIBERS TO THE SARATOGA SPECIAL. One of the important events of the season for two-year-olds is the Saratoga Special, a six-furlong subscription affair that is annually derided at Saratoga. The subscriptions are 50 each, half forfeit, and the Saratoga Association for the Improvement of the Preed of Horses provides a piece of gold plate of the value of §1.000 that goes to the winner in addition to the stakes. Subscribers are allowed to nam-- three horses by July 1 and may be represented by one start for each MbaeriptteaL The list of sub-nerihera for the coming renewal of the race at Saratoga in August has just been announced and is made up of the foliowiiir: August Belmont.
