Won easily: second and third driving LUCILE P. began slowly, but moved un steadily until entering the homestretch and drew away in the last quarter to win in a canter. KEY ENNIS, a rapid beginner, set a good early pace, but was tiring at the end. CRUCES finished gamely and would have been second in a few more strides. DOC MEALS showed improvement. CU BON raced forwardly, but also tired in the last quarter. JIM O. finished well. LITTLE HUGH quit after leading for over a mile. F. A. STONE fell at the ninth jump and POWDER PUFF at the seventh. KING WORTH set the pace to the stretch, then came again after losing ground at the eighth post and outgamed REDLAND. The latter saved ground on all turns, but tired after racing into the lead. YORKVILLE finished close up. BETWEEN US was always outpaced. The winner, entered for ,800, was bid up to ,505 and bought in. AKIN followed the pacemakers closely to the stretch turn, then moved up swiftly into the lead and was going away at the end. SIR EDGAR raced forwardly, finished gamely and easily passed TOP O TH MORNING. The latter showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, but tired as if short. CARBIDE was responsible for the delay at the post and refused to go. PRINCE HENRY raced well. ANITA tired. J. J. LILLIS and FLITTERGOLD were always outpaced.
