SOME BITS OF NEW YORK GOSSIP. New York. April 25. — Price McKinney. who with Jam "s Corrigan owns the Wickliffe Stable, is visiting here. In speaking of his extensive stable now in Kentucky, he said that several of the horses had been affected with influenza, their temperatures at times reaching 106 degrees. "The strangeness of the infection was in the fact that not a single horse went off his feed and. after a few days entirely recovered." said Mr. McKinney. "Ours was not the only stable affected. I sup- ose it was a sort of la grippe and it does not seem to have left any bad effects, though it put the horses back in their work for a few days." Referring to the coming Kentucky Derby. Mr. McKinney said he had heard excellent reports of Bulse. intimating that it would take a mighty good horse to heat him. Mattie Get he It, owner of the good mare Coquette, says she is doing finely and has picked up about 150 pounds in weight since last autumn. Many breeders are anxious to buy her for a broodmare after her racing career is over. 1 . ! , 1 ■
