J. N. CAMDEN BUYS ENGLISH STALLION. Lexington. Ky.. May 9. — It has been pretty generally understood for some time that former Senator J. N. Camden was negotiating for the purchase of a high -class English horse to head his Hartland stud. Recent reports have it that the deal has been consummated and that the horse will ha delivered to him in July. This horse is Light Brigade, a brown, foaled in 1910. by Picton. son of Orvieto and Hecuba, by Isonomy. out of Bridge of Sighs, by Isinglass. Light Brigade was bred by the Earl of Derby, and as ■ twoyesir-old won the Highclere Nursery, in a field of twenty-one; the Liverpool Nursery, carrying top weight in a good field and other races. At three, he won eleven races consecutively, including the Column Produce Stakes; Hurst Tark Yearling Plate, ireat National Produce Stakes conceding twenty-four lKiunds to second horse I. Durham County Produce Plate by two lengths from CanMlever. in receipt of nine pounds: Great Yorkshire Stakes. North Derby, an Ascot Triennial, etc.. At four, started seven times, winning the Atlantic Stakes by three lengths from Breakspear. etc: March Stakes iby four lengths, and Bridgemau Stakes, carrying top weight in each race. Light Brigades winnings in stakes totaled iiesirly 0,000. Mr. Camden is certainly to lie congratulated oil securing Light Brigade, sis horses of his class would probably not lie on the market at any price, under circumstances other thsiu those at present existing in England.
