PREPARING FOR MOUNT ROYAL RACING. Montreal. Que.. May 16.— At a meeting of the Hack River Jo-key Club, the officials for the first meeting at the Mount Koyal track. July S to 15. w«re selei tU and arrangements for the meeting discussed. The st-eplechase course is fast Hearing completion ami an effort will be made to make the races tf be run through the field at tractive enough to induce the owners of steeplechasers to ship here for th" gathering. The course is laid out on the plan of the track! under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Kacing Associations and will have the regulation jumps. The track is in splendid condition as shown by a number of trials there by horses which are be-iug prepared for tin coming coinpaigii. The second meeting of tic club will lie held following the meetings at Klue Honnets ami Dorval. which will Hive owners twenty -one days of racing on mile tracks with uteaplm ha an at each course. The officials announced are practically the same as a year ago. Mr. Martin Nathaiison will be presiding judge, Eddie St. leter will be the associate judge. Sheridan Clark, clerk of the course and scales, while William Murray will handle the barrier.
