BAYBERRY CANDLE FIRST TAKES THE BEN BRUSH HANDICAP AT THE DOWNS WITH BRYNLIMAH SECOND. Track Still Unfavorable to Good Racing, but Favorites Score in Most of the Races — Roamer to Come West. Oreeners Raylierry Candle, which scored over Krynlimah. bee Kay and Lady Kotha. The winner was kept in front from the start and, under good riding, held Krynlimah safe for the entire race. Murphy, who had the mount on Krynlimah, complained to the stewards that Martin had impeded him. Track conditions were still bad. favoring pronounced mud runners, l»ut the weather was fine ami another generous crowd saw some excellent sport. Favorites fared well, the majority of the purses going to their credit. The Raker-Ooose combination started out as if to make a clean score in all the races in which they had representation. but after winning the first two with Hot Toddy and Sleeth. they sustained a set back through the defeat of Green Jones, which they regarded with more favor than any of their other representatives.
