Hani rains during the night and early this morn-ins gave those racers with mud running ability an opportunity and reduced the original card to evenly matched fields. The s|K rt was interesting and some of the finishes close and exciting. The threatening weather caused a slight decrease in attendance, but speculation was up to the usual good standard. The Fonso Handicap, at one mile and an eighth, served as :i secondary feature and resulted in a victory for Baylierry Candle, which, despite her severe experience in the Clark Handicap, showed all her old-time good form and. leading from the barriers rise, beat the favorite. Davies was suspended for the rest of the meeting by the starter for disobedience at the post in the opening race. Messrs, Price.
