DURYEA SALE A GREAT SUCCESS. Crimper the Star of Sixteen Sold — Seventeen Yearlings Reserved to Be Sold at Saratoga. New York. May 27.— The sale of the H. B. Duryca estate horses imported from France, took place in the paddock at Belmont Park prior to todays races. The bidding was spirited from the start and so eager were fashionable breeders to get the stock that the sixteen head of two-year-olds and over brought a total of 1916.sh0,100. an average of a trifle more than ,131 each. The sale indicated that there will be more breeders in the business at an early date. Ital Parr, of Baltimore bought Crimper, the star of the sale for 0,500. After the purchase Mr. Parr stated that he had lniught the horse with the intention of racing him and then starting a breeding establishment with Crimi er at the head. One of the principal bidders was A. J. Joyner. who bought four for M. L. and A. C. Schwartz, for whom Joyner will train. Among the other bidders were Schuyler L. Parsons and 11. H. Knapp, two of the Jockey Club stewards. John Sanford was also prominent in the bidding, but made only one purchase. The yearlings were not sold but will be offered at auction during the Saratoga meeting.
