Won easily; second and third driving. PHOCION, away forwardly and running well in the going, moved into the lead at once and increased his advantage while racing to the stretch and won easing up. PAS DK CHANCE ran a good race and was a forward contender from the start. LANGDEN ran well, but tired in the stretch. SPRING WHEAT raced forwardly. JACK SALMON was away poorly and closed a good gap. CHALMERS set the early pace and seemed to tire after going a half mile, but held on well in the stretch and outstayed MARS CASSIDY. The latter was much used in wearing CHALMERS down in the first half and tired. The others were outpaced. The latter was taken back and saved for the first half, then came with a rush through the stretch but too late. SOLAR STAR showed speed and set a fast pan, but tired in the last quarter.
