NEARING THE FINISH AT BELMONT PARK. Only One More Day Remaining of the Big Tracks Spring Meeting — Roly in Good Form. New York. June 13. — First-class racing weather was the order today and the attendance showed a decided increase. While the class of horses contesting was of ordinary calibre, the racing was spirited with exciting finishes resulting. The opener went to Cheer from the Brighton Stable, which only had to canter to defeat her opponents. The second was a good speculative affair, with the winner. Sir William Johnson, fancied by many. He won in a hard drive with Corsican. Pullux being third. The third was likewise an affair that attracted considerable speculation. Felieidad being the medium of staunch support. The colt, however, duplicated his performance of Saturday by leading to the eighth post and quitting badly when it seemed he would Ik- the winner. Yankee Witch then came on to score over Alvord. The fourth was as easy for Roly, the odds-on favorite, as the opener was for Cheer. Koly went into the lead at the start, increased his advantage to a ten lengths lead when turning for home and won hard held. Whimsy barely outstayed the fast-coming Sandman II. for second place. Tomorrow marks the close of the Belmont Park meeting and the racing will shift to Jamaica Thursday, when the Excelsior Handicap is down for decision. Price McKinney was a visitor today, coming from Cleveland to see the running of the Keene Memorial Stakes, which will be decided tomorrow, and for which the Wiokliffe Stable has four eligi-bles — Assume, Temptation.
