BROOKS raced in the best going for the entire way. responded gamely when called on after entering the homestretch and drew clear at the eighth jiost. but was hard ridden to withstand DOLINAS challenge. The latter was a forward contender in closest pursuit and was slightly interfered with on the far turn, but gained steadily in the homestretch and finished wearing the winner down. GRASP showed brilliant speed on the far turn, but came wide and tired when the final drive came. EDNA KENNA saved ground, but was in deep going all the way. LADY LITTLE ran well. WISTFIL came extremely wide, but raced in the best going and finished gamely through the homestretch. ARTEMIS closed a gap and. responding gamely to punishment, outstayed CHEER. The latter moved up rapidly in the final quarter, but swerved into the deep going and tired. KOH-I-NOOR stumbled and almost fell at the half-mile post. Won easily; second and third driving. SIIR raced wide around the first turn, but moved up steadily under restraint on the backstretch and, taking the lead in the stretch, won with speed in reserve. ACHIEVEMENT was hard ridden for the entire race and tired after getting to the leader. CELANDRIA was in deep going on the backstretch and was shuffled back, then went to the outside and easily disposed of CHICLE. The latter showed the most speed for a half mile, but tired and quit under punishment. MUSTARD was in deep going for five-eighths.
