HAMILTON MEETING AROUSES INTEREST. With the Hamilton Jockey Clubs seven-day meeting scheduled to open next Saturday race-goers in that vicinity are preparing to enjoy a whirl at the sport. Hamilton will run for seven days and then the thoroughbreds will move on to Fort Erie for another seven-day meeting, beginning July 4. With a fine list of stake events the Hamilton meeting this year should result in one of the most sin-cessful gatherings ever staged in that Canadian city. Opening day will see the running of the Dominion Plate, one mile and an eighth, a steeplechase and five other races. Among the other stakes to be decided are the Hamilton Derby, which will be run on the fourth day: the Spring Brewery Stakes, and the National Handicap. The eligible list for the Derby is a big one, and many of the three-year-olds entered in this event are also eligible for the Canadian Derby to be run at Fort F.rie. Many stables from Kentucky will ship or hae shipped to Hamilton. The blue grass region will be well represented in Canada from now on, the start being made at Hamilton and continuing on down through the Fort F.rie and Windsor meetings, and winding up in northern Canada and at Toronto in the fall Kara interest la manifested in the Hamilton races by Buffalo race-goers on account of the fact that the same horses will later race at the course across the river. A big delegation will go over from Buffalo next Saturday. i
