WINDSORS FINE SEND OFF SFACI0US ENCLOSURE CROWDED TO REPLETION WITH PATRONS OF RACING. Thornhill, at Lone Odds, Wins the Rich Frontier Handicap from Rancher, with Borrow Unplaced Blind Baggage Run3 Fast. Detroit, Mich.. July 15. A tremendous gathering turned out at Windsor this afternoon to give the Windsor Jockey Club a good send off. The attendance was a record-breaking one for the course and every available space within the enclosure was packed. Long before the running of the first race standing room in the immense grandstand was at a premium. The splendid program furnished by the club provided high-class entertainment. The feature race, the Frontier Handicap, went to James Harrys Thornhill, which beat Rancher by a scant length. King Gorin was third and Rorrow. the odds-ou favorite, was fourth. The race was marked by a long delay at the post and some rough riding, from which Runes was the greatest sufferer. Robert Rradley refused to start when the barrier was released. The mutuels on Thornhill paid 25.00. The running of the third race, a dash of three-quarters, divided interest with the stake. E. R. Itradleys liliml Raggage made a runaway affair of this race and incidentally created a new track record, the fractional time of the race b"ing 22. If. and 1:11":-.. Calgary, making his first effort in a couple of years, was second. Jane Straith. a recent arrival from Kentucky, beat a big baud in the second race and changed hands after her victory, being bid up from ?G0O to ,100 and bought by W. Storniont. Incog scored her third straight victory when she won the lifth race. Rack of her tinished J. R. Respess good colt. Highland Lid. Irving II. Wheatcroft was among those who witnessed the races at Windsor this afternoon. Mr. Wheatcroft departed for New York to arrange for the shipment of another big consignment of thoroughbreds from England. The dozen high class mares that recently arrived for him have been shipped to AY. . Parmers Kdenwold stud in Tennessee. They are all in foal, and will bo ma led with the stallions at Kdenwold next spring. K. G. Vivoll was among the arrivals from New York. He brought the sprinter Etruscan, which he claimed from the Green tree Stable. Among the distinguished visitors were Gen. W. P.. Ilaldemau of the Kentucky State Racing Commission; John llnchmeistcr. general manager of the Latouia Jockey Club, and Judge Monck of Hamilton, Out. Harry 1. Rrown, Jr., was an arrival. He will remain throughout the meeting. Mr. Rrown says that tin; prospects for racing in Cuba next winter look brighter than ever and that a great many owners from Kentucky and New York have already asked for stabling room at Oriental Park. Albert Simons came over from Fort Erie to saddle Rorrow in the Frontier Handicap. At the conclusion of the races he arranged to ship Iiorrow over to Fort. Krie and it is probable that the horses next start will be in the Dominion Handicap. Joe Xotter came here to ride Rorrow today and returned to Saratoga tonight.
