SOMETHING ABOUT BOOTS RACING ABROAD. The gelding Boots, which set a new track record for a mile at Empire City Wednesday, was bred at Elmenilorf. and was one of a consignment of yearlings sent to England in 1012 by J. B. Hag-gin for auction at tin; Newmarket October sales. Hi; was there bought by W. H. Schwiuil for 75. The purchase may have been for Oscar Lewisohu. At anv rate, all of his racing was in the hitters naine. He raced well in England, but was regarded as a long distance stayer instead of a fast miler. He won twice when a two-year-old and when a three-year-old won the Old Newton Cup at Haydock Park, and the Oadby Handicap at Leicester, both raes Ix-ing at a mile and a half. He ran five races that year, and the only one he was unplaced in was the Cesarewitch. He raced a few times there last year without success. His latest performance makes it out that he is now in good form, and a horse to be respected. He is in the Saratoga Cup at a mile and three-quarters.
