LIMITED RACING SEASON FOR FRANCE. Advices from Paris are to the effect that racing on a limited scale and under conditions similar to those now obtaining at Gatwick. Windsor and Liuglicld will start in France in about a months time, just when it seems likely that we shall be leaving off. The program arranged for our French friends will extend from the middle of August to the end of November, and only the paddock and saddling enclosure will he open to paying visitors. One of the great points made by our friends the enemy in the House of Commons and elsewhere was that it hurt our allies and made them doubtful as to our endeavors in the common cause to see us indulging in sports and racing. What will be the new argument, 1 wonder, to combat the altered position. They can hardly go on abusing British sportsmen without laying themselves open to the charge of insulting our French allies and endangering the entente. Loudon Sportsman of July 12.
