Y., August 2. Harry Payne Whitneys Peter Pun Royal Rose five-year-old gelding. Pennant, has been awarded top weight for the Dominion Handicap, which will be decided at Fort Erie on the opening day of the second meeting of tin? Niagara Racing Association next Saturday. Regret, from the same stable, is allotted 121 pounds and Borrow another of Mr. Whitneys eligible, will have to carry 121. Of the three. Borrow is a sure starter, having been shipped to the Fort Erie track several days ago from Windsor. Another sure starter will be the imported gelding Boots, owned by Oscar Lewisohn and trained by John Whalen. Mr. Whalen telegraphed the Niagara Racing Association asking that seven stalls be bedded down, as he would arrive with Boots and five other horses Wednesday. Boots has been assigned 111 pounds for the Dominion. Rancher gets in with 119 and Runes has been assigned the task of carrying 110. There are several other good ones eligible and it looks like a splendid field for the Niagara Racing Associations richest stake, ,000 added, next Saturday. Racing Secretary J. 15.
