Won easily; second and third driving. PASSING FANCY began slowly and, being h-ird urged in the early running, slipped through next to the rail into a long lead and won in a canter. IDOL1TA raced under hard pressure throughout and outstayed FLARE through the final eighth, but was driving hard at the finish. FLARE displayed much speed and outstayed MOONLIGHTER. LOUGH FOYLE, after being a forward contender from the start, took the lead in the final turn of tli! field, then withstood STONEWOODS repeated challenges and Avon under hard pressure. STONE-AVOOl fenced well and raced gamely through the final half. FOOTLIGHTS gained steadily when called on and was going fastest of the leaders at the finish. M. J. SHANNON ran forwardly until he lost his rider at the sixteenth jump. BBOTHEIJSTONE and TRADITIONER ran out at the sixth jump and SHANNON RIVER fell at the third. Won driving; second and third the same. YANKEE AVITCH raced in near pursuit of the leaders from the start and, in a game finish, out-staved KOH-I-NOOR in the final drive. The latter came around the leaders with a rush when entering the homestretch and took the lead, but tired when challenged. TRAGEDY saved ground on the stretch turn and finished fast and gamely. MARIE ODILE set and forced a fast pace for five-eighths and tired. DIAERSION and SISAGA finished with brilliant speed on the outside of the leaders. NEPHTHYS was in close quarters while rounding the far turn, but came to the outside in the homestretch and, finishing fast, outstayed REPUBLICAN in the closing strides. The latter moved up menacingly after entering the homestretch, but was tiring at the end. JESSE JR. needs a stronger rider. BLACK COFFEE was not persevered with.
