MACMANUS RACERS GETTING A REST. Xew York, August 9. Nine thoroughbreds belonging to James MacManus are quartered at Belmont Park in charge of trainer Cunningham. Seven belong to the racing division, .but their owner do-cided that a months respite from racing would do them more good than a journey to Saratoga Springs, as some of them have been campaigning rather severely already this season. The seven thoroughbreds in the racing division include OSulllvan, Chesterton, Oratorlum, Mcnlo Park, Presumption and Curraghaleen. There are also two yearlings, one of which is Mexico II., bought last week at the sale of the Duryea yearlings at Saratoga. He is a good-looking chestnut colt of fair size and fine finish, and undoubtedly a bargain at 1916.sh50. He is by Irish Lad or Sweeper probably Sweeper, which he strongly resembles, out of Monroe Doctrine. The other yearling is a fine-sized and smoothly-finished brown colt by Burgomaster. He was bought at the sale of the J. H. Morris yearlings.
