FAST HELIOS A WAR HORSE. Saratoga Springs. N Y., August 15. A. MeL. Earlocker, secretary of the Saratoga Association, has received an interesting letter from Col. Henry TV Allen, IT. S. A., who is doing duty with the American expeditionary forces in Mexico. Extracts front the letter, which is dated at Camp Dublin, are as follows: "We have had not a little of the horse game, but somewhat slower in general than, yours. The running horse IiaV stood the test on some of our long drives to the south. In my column of picked men and horses to the Parral region on tlio sixteenth consecutive march, my command made fifty-seven mites. On the last day I was riding the thoroughbred Helios, given to me by Hon. .1. N. Camden. The great shortage in forage made these marches excessively hard on the horses and mules, of which we lost considerable numbers. Just now I am in command of this camp, where we. have many animals suffering from sore backs and emaciation. But we have progressed to the point of having field days. "
