CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. AA. R. Coos Bet is being schooled for. steeple-chasing. J. AV. Colt, whose colors were carried a decade or so ago bv some good steeplechasers, is contemplating re-engaging in that branch of racing as an owner. Harry La Montague will return to France shortly, i as a preliminary to which he will sell all his j steeplechasers at Saratoga Springs August 24. The Powers-Hunter Company of Xew York will have charge of the sale. Agents of A. K. Macomber ma"de an offer of ,000 retaining fee and 00 a month to jockey 1. Robinson. The young man declined to sever his relations with Ed Trotter, though his present salary is very much less, and his. engagement is one that could easily be cancelled. 1
