PHILISTINE was a forward contender all the way and finished gamely. OWANA saved ground on the stretch turn and raced into the lead, but tired in tin? final drive. GIISEY GEORGE set a great pace and came again in the last sixteenth, but could not quite get up. ROBERT BRADLEY closed a gap and outgamed BACK BAY. FATHER RILEY closed a big gap and so did KEWESSA. AURIGA, under slight restraint followed the pacemaker closely to the stretch turn, then finished fast and was drawing clear at the end, but her rider was a pound and a half short of weight and she was disqualified. OPHELIA AV. raced well, but tired after drawing away into an easy lead while rounding the last turn. BLUE FOX began slowly and finished fast.
