QUEED WINS MOUNT ROYAL JUMPING RACE. Montreal, Que., August 24. The feature of the offering of the Back River Jockey Club this afternoon at Mount Royal Park was a steeplechase handicap, which brought together a good band of horses and resulted in another victory for Queed. The weather was warm and fine and the attendance was larger than on the previous afternoon. The track was in perfect condition. William Garth was an arrival here this afternoon. He came over to look over the horses which have been here under the care of trainer J. AA. Healy. Kenneth Dawes, owner of Billy Frew, one of the most promising of the entries for the Kings Flate to be run at Blue Bonnets on Monday, September 4, the opening day of the Montreal Jockey Clubs meeting, has announced that the horse will not be a starter for tha Plate, owing to having been throwa out of training because of an attack of fever. This, with the disqualification of Lady Spendthrift, will detract from the interest in the running of the Plate. The officials for the new mile course at Kemp-ton Park. La Prairie, have been announced. They will be practically the same as at Mount Royal. Martin Nathanson will be presiding steward and racing secretary, Charles Campeau will be presiding judge and clerk of the course and W. W. Lvles, paddock and patrol judge, while James Milton will do the starting. A delegation of horsemen visited the course this morning and were loud ia their praise of the plant and track.
