DEVONSHIRE PARK DENIED A LICENSE. Windsor, Out., August 21. Windsor men interested in Devonshire Park, the third track for this citv and which is under construction, were notified at noon today that a license authorizing their proposed race meeting here in September will not be granted. The work of construction was halted upon the receipt of the message. The final action was taken by Attorney White, solicitor in the Provincial Secretarys department. Despite a declaration some time ago by the Canadian government that only two tracks would be allowed at Windsor, the promoters of Devonshire Park went ahead with the building of the track. Strong influence was brought to bear on the government to deny it a license. It is understood that O. E. Fleming and Dr. J. O. Reaurne. former Ontario Minister of Public Works, were local men interested iu the project.
