The latter raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch, but tired when called on for a linal effort. SIR WILLIAM JOHNSON lacked speed, but raced gamely. FELLOWSHIP, after being saved in the early running, moved up menacingly on the last turn, but was repeatedly interfered with in the linal quarter and probably was iMst. AHARA was shuffled back at the start, but saved ground on the turns and hung on gamclv to the end. DolBLET retired early after setting the pace briefly. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. RICKETY raced prominently throughout and made a game effort in the linal eighth, but was tiring in the closing strides. SKEPTIC gained steadily from a slow start and outstayed VIVID for third place. The latter met with minor interference in the early running, but closed a gap and finished fast. TUMBLER began badly and made up much ground. MADEIRA tired after racing well for live-eighths.
