There was a decided improvement in track conditions at Dorval this afternoon and the footing was in comparatively good condition. This was surprising, not only to horsemen but to race-goers as well, who had looked for a deep track for the remainder of the meeting. Heretofore heavy track conditions prevailed for several days following rain. There were two handicaps on the program, one for Canndian-brcds at three-quarters, and another at a mile and seventy yards. The former furnished an interesting contest in which Kathleen H., Cerf Volant and Prince Philsthorpe finished heads and necks apart. In the mile and seventy yards handicap Christie won off by himself. He was ridden by jockey Robinson, who indulged Prohibition with the lead until well around the far turn. Christie dashed to the front just before the stretch tiirn was reached and drew away into a long lead in the last quarter. Kigiit lengths back came Prohibition, with the odds-on favorite. King Neptune, last. The apprentice rider L. Lykes showed to advantage when lie brought Kathleen II. from behind and got her up first in the last few strides. F. Robinson rode four winners during the afternoon. Moss Fox, Christie, Zodiac and Dundreary. The stables racing at Dorval will be pretty well divided at. the conclusion of the meeting. Francis .1. Pons. W. C. Weant, i. 15. Hennessey and James liooker will ship their horses to Devonshire Park. Tomorrow night, the following will leave for Toronto: James Hewitt. O. W. Miller. O. E. Chancellor. J. At the conclusion of that meeting, almost the entire number will be shipped to Devonshire Park at Windsor. Among todays arrivals were 0. D. Ilryan. Jr., J. E. Ollara and W. P. Martin from Baltimore. Those gentlemen are interested in the meeting to be given at Kempton Park. Francis J. Pons left, for his farm in Tennessee to arrange for the shipment of his band of Tony Roucro yearlings to Louisville, where they will be disposed of by auction September 30. Two of yesterdays winners Paulson and Billy Culbertson changed hands after their victories anil, in both instances. C. Alexandra secured them. J. D. Misick also had a claim in for Hilly Culbertson. but Alexandra outdrow him. Lord Fitz Herbert, which won his last two starts, is one of the colts that 11. Seviere purchased hist spring for James Dairy of Montreal. The colt worked a half mile for Robert Walden over the Pimlico track in IS seconds early in the spring. Extensive improvements are still under way at Pimlico which, when completed, will make that course by far the most attractive in Maryland.
