Jockey .7. 3Ietcalf rode St. Charleoto to victory at Havre do Grace, Friday, and not K. llaynes, as was erroneously sent out from the track. The stables of A. .7. Joyner. Jule Oarson, Fred-oriel: Johnson and 0. K. I. Hillings are still at Rel-moiit Park. The first-named two will ship to Laurel presently. Thirty yearlings that James Fitzsimmons has in charge "are being broken at Gravcscnd, while their trainer is racing the active division of his stable in 31:iryland. Louis 3Iartine has five thoroughbreds at Graves-ond, among them Quartz, bought at the Sanford sale and now a gelding. O. C. Rasch has five yearlings at Gravesend, the imported fillies Dustpan and Confiscation, bought at the Duryea sale, being among them. George W. Wingfield was so pleased with his English two-year-old 3Iont Rhine, which died last June, that Ins has bought a yearling brother to him in England and his dam, Rernini, as well. The latter is a six-year-old brown mare by St. Serf Miss Tailor, by Orvieto. She will remain in England to be mated with Grey Leg next spring, lnit the colt is now on his way to this country. Trainer D. R. 3IcDaniel has taken a portion of the Grant Hugh Rrowne string to Canada, and in the meantime the Rrowne yearlings are being given their early education at Gravesend. Resides fifteen yearlings imported by 3Ir. Rrowne in August, about twenty youngsters from the Goshen farm have been sent to Gravesend. The last mentioned yearlings came over as weanlings last fall, and they have since been at Goshen. He also has two two-year-olds which came over in August, the two-year-old "War Dog, bought at the Mackay yearling sale, and the black two-year-old Roy Rrowne American-bred hy Kins Cobalt. Both now are geldings.
