GOOD PROSPECTS AT DEVONSHIRE PARK. Detroit, Mich., September 29, The Western Racing Association will open its new race track, Devonshire Park, at Windsor, tomorrow under conditions that promise success. Although there was a move to blacklist horsemen, who might race at Devonshire Park, everything has now practically been settled, since a meeting of the Canadian Thoroughbred Association at Toronto last night endorsed the new-track and its owners. That there will be good feeling among the race track owners was shown today when the management of the Kenilworth track, which held its inaugural meeting a few weeks ago, offered the Devonshire Park people the use of their stalls and any other necessities that they mnv be short of at the last moment. This move was appreciated by the officials of Devonshire Park. That there will lie no scarcity of horses for the meeting, is shown bv the fact that the 400 spacious stalls in the park have been completely filled, while additional accommodations will also be available Kenilworth Park. Four carloads of horses arrived today from Montreal, while one carload came from Toronto. number of jockeys also came from Montreal, among them Dominick, Claver, Gross, Young, Gaugel and Schamehorn, while others had previously arrived. The card for the opening day was filled exceptionally well, averaging ten horses to the race and the contention in all the races will be keen, as the horses are well matched. ,,. , . The management has arranged with the Michigan Central railroad to run special trains to and from the track and the best of service has been promised in this respect.
