HAWTHORN, away fast and showing the most speed, was inclined to quit when rounding into the stretch and had to be hard ridden to outstay MINSTREL. The latter closed a good gap and was going fifst at the end. SOME REACH ran forwardly from the start and outstayed BILLY JOE. The latter had no mishaps. The others were outpaced. ACABADO was hard Tidden and while racing wide, gained steadily and outstayed BELIEVE ME BOYS in the last strides. BELIEVE ME BOYS ran well and finished gamely.
