NOTES OF THE TURF FROM OTHER LANDS. Popinjay having finished her racing career, Mr. W. K. Vanderbilt has sent here to Le Quesnoy Stud. Ballaghtobin was not included among the acceptances for the Cesarewitch, but was an acceptor for the Cambridgeshire. Fifinella and Muscovado have left R. Dawsons stable at Whatcome for Mr. Hultons stud at Far-ingdon to be turned out for the winter. Baron M. de Waldner, one of the Stewards of the Societe de Sport de France, has received the Cross of the Legion of Honor for bravery at the front. To commemorate the success of his horses at Caen, Baron Edourd de Itotschild lias given 2000 francs, to the Flat-race Trainers, Jockeys, and Stable Lads Aid Fund. It was for the account of the King of Spain that Senor San Miguel purchased Viscount dllarcourts yearlings Beau and Hale, both by Sea Sick, at Cheris recent sale at Paris. In England an unusual partnership has been registered by Messrs. W. Cliff and It. B. Hopkins in u yearling. The former has nineteen-twentieths and the latter one-twentieth. As a souvenir of his successes at Caen. Baron E. de Rothschild handed a cheque for 10.000 francs to the mayor, for distribution among the various charitable institutions of that town. An epidemic of coughing is raging among the race horses in Austria-Hungary. In the Freu-denou alone the number of horses affected is considerably over one hundred, says "Deutschcr Sport." The Jubialums Preis Vienna, of the value of roughly ,800, was recently won by Count A. Sigrays four-year-old colt. Missouri, by William the Third Gabardine, which defeated seven others. The distance was a mile and a half. At Caen Baoes McCee won sixteen races, ONeill fourteen, G. Sauval six, J. .Jennings three, L. Bara three, Doumcn, H. Howes and Peart two each, and R. Barker, K. Ball, Cormack, Button, i. Hall, J. Kellett, Partridge, Patrick and R. Stokes one each. Several American owners, who have organized racing stables in France are said to have decided to return to the "States." Thus, AVelsh, who lias been buying for Mr. Widener, will leave some time this month, accompanied by all the purchases he has nmde for his employer. He will probably have as his traveling companion, I. Reiff, who has seven yearlings belonging to Mr. Sanford. London Sportsman.
