CHICAGO MANS PROMISING YEARLINGS. Lexington, Ky., December 10. Theodore L. Pierce, who is training Stephen R., Peter J. and five coming two-year-olds for Frank J. Kelley, the Chicago wall-paper man, at the Kentucky Association track, is highly pleased with his prospects for the 1917 racing season. He may conclude to ship to Louisville and train at Churchill Downs during the remainder of the winter. The main track here is to be closed as soon as the severe weathers sets in and will be covered with straw. Pierce does not fancy the sand track used here for winter gallops. The coming two-year-olds have been named as follows: Saza-Namy, ch. f, by Trap Rock Fizgig. Ichi-Ban, b. f, by Trap Rock Linda Stone. Black Ben, br. c, by Ben Trovato Dulcinea. Irish Beau, ch. c, by Bourbon Beau Lauretta Stolworthy. Best Beau, ch. c, by Bourbon Beau Francisca. Saza-Namy and Ichi-Ban Japanese for very fast and number one can run like the wind. They worked a quarter here the other day in 23, the first eighth in .11 and the second eighth in 11. Sasa-Naniy is a three-quarters sister to Flint Rock. Best Beau Is out of the dam of six winners. Pierce broke the bay colt by Peep oDay Damson and the chestnut colt by Jack Atkins Barbara Whiting for the late W. II. Laudeman and, likewise, for Jess Spencer, he broke the sister to Blackie Daw and the sister to Taxi, both by Transvaal, the former being out of Merry Day and the latter out of Patsy Carroll.
