WAND VICTRESS IN A CLOSE FINISH. Beats Dyson by a Nose in ths Most-CIoscly Contested Race of tho Juarez Meeting. El Paso, Texas, December 10. V. Wallhausers good filly, Wand, by Hurst Park Fairy Story, proved to be the best of a good field of two-year-olds that competed in the second race at Juarez this afternoon, but her victory was achieved by the narrowest possible margin. The race was one of the inost-closely contested seen at the meeting, n half dozen horses being bunched at the finish, -where Wand was a nose in front of Dyson, which an turn was closely pressed by P.essanta, with Alan close up. Black Jack, the early pacemaker, tired sind finished next to last. In the opening race, J. Griffiths gelding Ralph S.. fooled those who thought his forte was confined to races over a long distance of ground, as he out-raced such fair sprinters as Milton Roblee, Tze-Lsi, Smiling Maggie and Violet, and won a race that was only over the five and a half furlongs route. Milton Roblee ran a poor race. Zolzo, from the stable of D. A. Stevens, sprung a surprise by capturing the second race, having the smallest kind of an advantage over Mary Estelle at the finish. In the fourth race I. E. Clarks Reed Deer, by Luke Ward Ollic P., broke out of the maiden class in an impressive way, defeating Rutland Arms by two lengths, with Certain Point third. Tony Mc-Cafferty showed speed in this race, but dropped I back near the finish.
