i CANADIAN CLAIMING CLAUSE ADOPTED. J. W. Coffroth Grants Demands of Horsemen and Chanse3 Selling Race Rule. Tijuana. Mex., December 23. President James W. Coffroth has granted the demands of the horsemen here and for the present the Canadian Claiming Clause will prevail in selling races at Tijuana. Coffroth spoke to the horsemen in a body l:.st night and told them that he was more than willing to meet them half way. He told them further that anything they would decide on within reason, would be satisfactory to him and the Canadian method was voted as satisfactory to the majority of the horsemen. Justice Goebel got into a race today where he set his own pace and won as his rider pleased. He opened a large gap quickly and held his advantage to the end, running the mile in 1:39. Colonel Marchmont came the fastest at the finish, but was unable to overtake the winner. John Graham was third. Kenneth won a close race from Cal Cum in the third and just lasted long enough to get first money. Apprentice boy De Poister lias been turned over to the Bronx Stable, owned by George P. Fuller. He was under contract to J. G. Bussey. 1
