It CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The recent purchase of James Fitzsimmons, a brown yearling by Sain Miss Letitia, is said to be a promising looking racing prospect. Edmund Day of Newport, Vt., a newcomer to the turf, has purchased two yearling fillies, one n bay by Hessian Alameta, the other a brown by Hessian Treason. John Miller has arrived in Xew York with the stallion. Stalwart, fifteen years old, by Meddler Melba, for R. H. McCarter Potter of Pequest Stud, Xew Jersey; a nice looking bay yearling colt by Star Shoot, which was recently bought by R. T. Wilson, and a chestnut yearling colt by Contestor Fanny W. Fonso, which had been bought from J. C. Milam by C. M. Garrison of New York and which will be trained by William Jennings of Baltimore.
