SOME. BUSY SCENES AT NEW ORLEANS. Three Hundred Horses on the Track Yesterday G. M. Hendrie to Race at the Fair Grounds. Xew Orleans, La., December 23. Although the going was lumpy and bad in spots at the Fair Grounds today, more than tltree hundred horses were out on the track working. Fast time was, of course, out of the question. The cold weather of yesterday lasted only a short time and today it was like spring. The course dried out rapidly. Horsemen are hoping for a dry spell, because the recent rains have prevented the horses which do not run well in soft going from getting sufficient training. A message was received from John Walters, trainer for Oeorga M. Hendrie, in which he said that he yesterday had shipped some horses from Nashville, Tenn., to the Fair Grounds. Walters will have five or six head here belonging to Mr. Hendrie and himself. It is thought probable that he has the stayer Rancher in his string. Word was received from jockey Frank Robinson by Ed Trotter, his employer, to the effect that the boy will leave his home in Cleveland, O., for Xew Orleans immediately after Christinas. Robinson said that he now weighs only 103 pounds, although he has not ridden in almost a month. Jockey O. Disunion got in today, coming from Lexington, Ky.
