AUSPICIOUS START FOR QUINCY STABLE. Begins Cuban Campaign With Victory, Bonnie Tess Beating Good Band of Sprinters. Havana. Cuba. Jan. 13. — The Quincy Stable began its Cuban campaign in auspicious manner when its Stur Shoot filly Bonnie Tess beat a hand of good sprinters in a three-euurter mile handicap at Oriental Park this afternoon. Bonnie Tess was ridden by Ball, overe-ame early interference and after making a wide turn in the homestretch, finished with a rush and- beat Anita a scant length. The crowd witnessed the sport this afternoon was a record for Saturday and the traek was in splendid condition. Keen sport was in order. Favorites won tin- first three races. Then came a break in the layers favorites. Naufshon. making his first start at the meeting was beaten a nose by March Court. Moncreif also was beaten a nose in his race. Jockey R. C. Watts and A. Collins were suspended for ten days for rough riding. Charlie Ballard was an arrival from New York thJe morning and will remain the rest of the winter.
