SYNDICATE RING BETTING UNPOPULAR. Ry J. R. Jeffery. San Diego, Cat, January 21. — There is no gainsaying the fact that the substitution" of the syndicate method of quoting odds for the open ring condition* that prevailed in the early part of the s ason has given the Tijuana meeting a setback. Many of the regulars who were enthusiastically supporting the meeting could not see their way clear to continue to do so under the new conditions and have moved on to other racing centers, most of them with keen regret, because otherwise conditions WOK entirely to their liking hen-.
