TIJUANA COURSE HEAVY WITH MUD. Return of Warm Weather Brings Hope for Improved Track Conditions. Tijuana. Mex.. January 22. — A track so heavy that the horses had a hard time standing up, WM the condition of things at the Tijuana course today. Warn sunshine, however, brought hope far improvement in the going. Racing Secretary Edward Jasper has had his troubles filling races and only those over short distances pleased the horsemen at all. The card today was ordinary, but form was well observed despite the caliber of the horses entered. Kitty Stanfiold. the gray mare, lias suddenly taken a new lease on life, and finally won a race, after being a creditable second the last time out. Nifty, the favorite, got pinched out of it soon after the start, thereby losing whatever chance lie may have had. Maud Smith won the second race and In Dutch the third. The opening race went to Hois-ington, which, after getting away slowly, overhauled the leaders in the stretch and won going away. Jockey Pauley has been fined .5 for rough riding in the second race of January 21. Thtee horses, owned by Louis Becker, arrived here from Ilensanton. They are Striker, Brighoiise anil Stellnrina.
