CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Schedule, b. c. 3. by AIcGee — Rose Lady, has had to be destroyed as the result of paralysis. • The eight-year-old gelding Jawbone is racing in superb form at Tijuana, having won five of his last six starts. Jack Atkin has had two two-year-olds to start this year and both are winners, namely Helen Atkin and Henry R. F. D. Knight has booked a mare for John San-ford to Dick Finnell. S. C. Lyne lias also heated a mare to him. 1telus ran a remarkably fast race Sunday at Juarez, when he lowered the four and a half furlongs track record to 53%, leading a band of fast sprinters all the way. W. B. Finnegan. foreman for Kay Spence. has been sent to Louisville, to take up Hodge. High Oar. Money Maker, Wilhite. Red Cloud and four others, to prepare them for spring racing in Kentucky. Emil Herz is at French Lick Springs, which is one of the most popular winter sporting Beaten in the country, but will go to Louisville shortly to inspect his stable, which is wintering there in Charge of trainer Flanagan. Jockey Mink Garner, who has been riding With great sine ess at Juarez this winter, has ticeii ordered to report to the Corrigau and McKinney stable at Louisville on March 1. Trainer Whalen lias written tinnier that his services will be required in a few weeks. B. A. Jones sold three of the five two-year-olds, which were shipped to him at the Juarez track Friday from Louisville. Those disposed of were a colt by Harrigan — Pickaninny, to II. Tullett: i wit by Harrigan to J. S-i kiimton, and colt by Blues-Lit liolen. to J. Seckington. Samuel S. Boss, owner of Iltimatum and other good horses, has a couple of two-year-olds by Sweep that he thinks are of real stake class. They are a brown colt — Ballet Oirl half-sister to Ballot, by St. Leonards, and a brown filly — Star of Runnymede. by Star Shoot. Former jockeys Willie and Eddie Cotton, sons of trainer W. E. Cotton, who was formerly B8-sociated with Col. W. E. Applegate. are both now located in Butte. Mont. The former is a butcher and his brother is filling a position of responsibility in one of the big cupper mines.
