JOCKEY TRIGG BUYS A HORSE. After Mint Master had run in the Denham Selling Handicap Hurdle Bace at Windsor on Saturday. January 13. he was put up to auction, and knocked down to C. Trigg, the flat -race jockey, for twenty-five guineas. Asked what hi? was going to do with him. Trigg said: "I have won race after race on the old fellow, and I was always fond of him. He was a curious horse to ride, but we understood each other. He used to belong to Charles Hibbert. and was trained by Joseph Cannon at Newmarket. I beat Frank Woottou a head on him once at Kcinpton when Franks horse was a hot favorite, and Mr. Hibbert stood to lose a lot of money if Franks horse had won, and, apart from that, lie backed his own, too. The auctioneer said he was to be sold without reserve, so I thought I would like to have him for old times sake, and I bid a "fiver." The auctioneer laughed, but accepted the bid, and I eventually got him for a pony. I shall ride him as a hack and hunt, him, and, anyway, he will have a happy home."
