New York, February ยป;. โ At a meeting of the stewards of the Jurkej Club at its offices yesterday afternoon, the following racing officials were appoint -el for 1!I17: .Judge-. . H. Pettingill and K. 0. Smith: starter, Mara Caashty; ha ad trapper. V. s. Vosburgt: clerk of the scales, h. I . Homan: assistant to clerk of the scales. Albeit Harlea; paddock and patrol fudge, J. L. Hall: timer. W. 11. Barrett*. The stewards in atteadaace were August Belmont. F. K. Sturgis. H. K. Knapp. Andrew Miller and Schuyler L. Pan ns. The registrar of the Jockey Club was instructed to designate A. K. Macembera imported chestnut colt North Star, by Sun Star โ Angelic, us .North Star III. The application of J. Denvenport for a Jackal a license **aa n fused. The application of J. Horsey for misstatement was denied. DeaTeaport had been suspended on one of tiie Canadian tracks and Horsey was on the ground for having administered stimulants to a bone before a race. The stewards informally discussed the question of racing dates for the season, a schedule being submitted for consideration, but action was pust-lKined to the next meeting.
