HOT SPRINGS MEETING ASSURED. 3usiness Mens League Confirms Announcement That Racing Will Begin March 7. Hot Springs. Ark.. February S. — President tins Strauss of the Business Mens League, on behalf of the Board of Governsn of that organization, issued the follow ring -t.il -menl bearing ol the rice meeting for this city next month: "Confirming the announcement formerly made by the Board of Oovernols uf the Pusiness Mens League, under whose aaapares racing is conducted here, racing will opt n in Hot Springs March 7. There will be thirty days of racing, the opening being at the Oaklaun course and the closiu; at Kssex Park." No specified division of dates was made in the announcement, but it was stated that this feature was very satisfactory to lwith Oaklawn and Essex Park. The latter track is now reci i ing horses and there are a number of stables there. Oaklawn. it is believed, will be open for horses Iebriiar.v 15. Joseph Martin, of St. Louis, will again have charge of the Oaklawn plant for the Pusiness Mills League, and Samuel J. Davis la manager at the Essex coarse. After a conference between President Gus Strauss, of the Pusiness Mens League here, and Fred W. Oerhardy. well-known racing official, the following announcement was made this afternoon: "Francis Nelson will lie the presiding judge at the Kssex Park course. Harry Morrisscy will do the starting there, and Fred W. Oerhardy will be si seriate Jadga and racing BMnager" Although no formal announcement has lieen made relative to the Oaklawn track, where the racing opens here March 7. it is informally stated that Judge Jack Campbell will again preside and the ohicials will be practically the same as last year.
