CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. N. Macfarlane of Montreal is sending his Yankee mare The Spirit to the Thorncliffe stud to be bred to Calgary, an Ogden horse. At Juarez. February 14. Van Horn scored at long odds over the well fancied Myrtle A. Van Horns backers received 4.60 for every dollar invested. Trainer Powers says that Leochares leg has filled since it was injured in his last race. However. Powers expects to have the speedy sprinter ready for Hot Springs racing. After being twice delayed by inclement weather, the horses belonging to Andrew Miller, which will race at Churchill Downs, have been skipped to Louisville.
