NO SICKNESS IN TH0RNCLIFFE STABLE. Twelve in the Band This Year with Two Kings Platers in the List. Toronto. Out.. March 1. — The thoroughbreds that will carry the colors of the Thorndiffe Stable this year have all wintered well, there being no ease of sickness. Of the twelve horses that will be raced, ten of theja are either two or three-year olds. festal ■ la Fay and King Hamburg are the only older horses, and the former, which was placed under the care of Hugh Wilson, of Oakville. last fall, will be seen over the sticks. He showed smartness over the jumps last fall and should earn brackets this year, as he has a liking for both weight and a dis tance ol ground. The stable has two Kings Platers, both of which are fillies. One is Impress, by Detective — St. Cecilia II.. which, through an injury, never started last year, although in the spring trials she displayed the most speed of any of the youngsters, including Incog. The other is that good filly Britannia, which went into winter qaartecs with a record of four straight wins. She is by Bannoi kburn. a horse that was noted for his achievements over a long route. This filly has developed wonderfully since being retired and is the best-looking horse at the farm. The other three year olds include the three well-known performers of last year. Incog. Graphic and Easter Lily. Lord Kitchener Best Looking Youngster. Five two year-olds embrace the string, four of Which are Canadian-breds. The latter are: Fleas lire Bent, by Nealon —Frolic: Koyal Navy, by Nealon i Mrs. Frank Foster: Joflre, by Orme Shore — Minnie C. and Lord Kitchener, by Orme Shore -Fair • Annie. The latter colt is the best looking youngster at the farm. Tie- other two-year old is Loxon by Sain Iicturesiiue. and a half brother to Graphic. The stable is well fortified in yearlings, having no less than nine. No foals have as yet arrived at the farm, and none are expected for some time. Nine mares are in foal, they being: Moving Picture, to Nealon: Southern Maid, to Calgary; Kose Lawrence, to First Sight; Fair Annie, to Calgary: Minnie G., to First Sight: Sky Rocket, to First Sight: Cold Bud. to Knights Differ, and Lapanga. to Nealon. This years foals will be the first of the get of Calgary, but hsnesaea are not waiting to get • glimpse of his offspring, but ale booking mares to him. Several will come up from Montreal next month to be mated with him. one of them being The Spirit. Calgary is well tired. being by Ogebn Star of the West. He is a ixiwerfully -built hols • and should Brake an ideal sire. Three other stallions are at the farm, they being Nealon. First Sight and Orme Shore. The racing string is in charge of William McDan-iel. who took them over last summer with good mh-cess.
